Award winners of the Second International Furoshiki Design Contest for Students Announced

The Japan Foundation held the Second International Furoshiki Design Contest for Students in autumn 2010 in collaboration with its overseas offices, eliciting submissions from design students overseas.
Among all 217 submissions, one winner of Grand Prize, three winners of Prize for Excellence, ten winners of Merit Prize, and ten winners of Honorable Mention were selected. Click here to see all entries.

We are please to announce that out of the 4 entries from Australia, 2 entires received 3rd place, the Merit Prize! Congratulations to Maggie Chang for her work 'Aborigine' and Peggy Luan Yee Lai for her design titled 'Spring'.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for participating in this event. The Foundation hopes this Furoshiki Design Contest serves as an opportunity for people overseas to know Japanese wrapping cloths furoshiki as well as for young designers to improve their skill.
We look forward to seeing entries for 2011.

 
2010 Entries
Thank you for presenting Australia in the Japan Foundation's International Furoshiki Competition!
All entries have been sent to our head office in Tokyo and the winning designs will be announced in early January 2011.
